A fantastic supplement!

Baby Bump is an excellent supplement (recommended by my naturopath). It provides all the necessary supplementation in just 2 capsules a day.

Baby Bump is a pregnancy food supplement a comprehensive multivitamin (vitamins, minerals, choline and DHA) in just 2 capsules, making it easy to take.

During pregnancy:
The nutritional requirement for certain nutrients (vitamin B9, zinc, iodine, etc.) increases during pregnancy (1).
Baby Bump provides, among other nutrients: methylated folate (5-mthf), choline, DHA, iodine, selenium, zinc and B vitamins.
- 400 µg of methylated folate (5-mthf) (vitamin B9) per day in the active form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (Quatrefolic®), which is directly absorbed by the body (2). Methylated folate (5-mthf) supplementation during pregnancy, particularly in the early stages, is recommended*. Low folate status increases the risk of neural tube defects.
- VitacholineTM, a highly absorbable choline bitartrate form (3).
- 200 mg of DHA from very high-quality fish oil, Qualitysilver® guaranteed and friend of the sea® certified, extra pure and free from pollutants. Maternal consumption of DHA contributes to the normal development of the foetus’s brain** and to the mother’s normal brain function.
- 150 ug of iodine, which contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function, and selenium, which also contributes to normal thyroid function. The thyroid is involved in many bodily functions, including growth (4). We use an inorganic form of iodine, potassium iodide, more than 90% of which is absorbed by the body (5).
- 20µg of vitamin D in the form of vitamin D3, the form best absorbed and utilised by the body (6). Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.
- Zinc, which has a role in the process of cell division. We use zinc bisglycinate, a form that is very well absorbed by the body (7).

When trying for a baby:
Baby Bump provides many nutrients: methylated folate (5-mthf), choline, DHA, zinc and B vitamins. These include:
- 400 µg of methylated folate (5-mthf) (vitamin B9) per day in the active form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (Quatrefolic®), which is directly absorbed by the body (2). During the period around conception, an insufficient intake of vitamin B9 (methylated folate (5-mthf)) could increase the risk of neural tube defects*.
- VitacholineTM, a highly absorbable choline bitartrate form (3).
- 200 mg of DHA from very high-quality fish oil, Qualitysilver® guaranteed and friend of the sea® certified, extra pure and free from pollutants.

*The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 400 μg of folic acid, starting at least one month before conception and continuing until three months after conception.
**The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA, in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, namely 250 mg of DHA and EPA.

How long should you take our pregnancy supplement?
We recommend taking it continuously, from the moment you start trying to conceive and throughout your pregnancy*.
Before conception, you can start Baby bump as soon as you begin trying for a baby.
During pregnancy, you can take it throughout all 9 months.
In the postpartum period, you can switch to our food supplement postpartum Post essentials.

If you need iron:
We chose an iron-free formula so you can tailor your iron intake to your own needs, and avoid supplementing without prior blood tests over time. You can find out your iron status with a simple blood test.
If you are deficient, you can take our iron supplement for pregnant women Iron Mama, or simply our pregnancy iron pack, the Baby bump + iron cure duo at a great price.

Can I take Baby bump with our fertility supplement Cocooning+?
Yes, you can take both at the same time! Cocooning contains plants to help reduce stress and zinc to support fertility. There is no risk of zinc overdose if you take both.

If you have a confirmed vitamin D deficiency, you can combine Baby bump with our vitamin D during pregnancy Sunny Mummy, and adjust the dose according to your needs.

It can also be taken with our choline-based supplement or even the magnesium supplement.

Don't worry if:
You forgot to take your supplements one day.
It's not a disaster to forget to take your vitamins for a day! If this happens, make sure you eat a varied and balanced diet in sufficient quantities and drink plenty of water. Remember that food is far more important than your supplements.

Food supplements should be consumed as part of a healthy lifestyle and should not replace a varied and balanced diet. Keep out of reach of young children. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

*The beneficial effect of vitamin B9 supplementation is obtained by the daily consumption of 400 μg of folic acid, at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception

What does Baby Bump contain?

At Jolly Mama, every ingredient is chosen with care – and above all explained with complete transparency, so you know exactly what you are giving your body.

During pregnancy, the need for methylated folate (5-MTHF) increases significantly, particularly in the first few weeks — a key period for neural tube development*. Baby Bump provides 400 µg in Quatrefolic® form, the active and patented form of 5-MTHF, directly absorbed by the body (1) to support the growth of maternal tissues.
*The beneficial effect is obtained by the daily consumption of 400 μg of folic acid, at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception.

(1) Conversion of calcium-l-methylfolate and (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid glucosamine salt into dietary folate equivalents. 2022.

Everything you need to know about Vitamin B9 (folates)

Our DHA is derived from an extra-pure, pollutant-free fish oil, certified Friend of the Sea® and guaranteed QualitySilver®, with a low Totox index ensuring excellent stability. DHA contributes to the normal development of the brain and vision of the foetus**.
**The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA, in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg of DHA and EPA.

Everything you need to know about Omega-3 DHA

Choline is an essential nutrient, yet it is still often consumed in insufficient amounts during pregnancy. Baby Bump provides 83 mg in the form of Vitacholine®, a high-quality patented choline bitartrate that is very well absorbed (2), to complement dietary intake and support the increased needs of this key period.

Everything you need to know about Choline

Pregnancy increases iodine requirements by more than 50%, contributing to the production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function. The thyroid is involved in many bodily functions, including growth (3). The ELFE study showed that more than 75% of pregnant women had insufficient iodine intake (4). We have used an inorganic form of iodine, potassium iodide, which is absorbed by the body at a rate of over 90% (5).

*Analysis results

ANSES issued an expert opinion highlighting the frequency of dietary deficiencies in iron, iodine, and vitamin B9 (folates) among pregnant women, and in vitamins A and C among breastfeeding women, even with an optimised diet*.

Women of childbearing age consume most micronutrients in quantities below official recommendations, which explains the frequency of deficiencies. This was highlighted by the INCA 3** study, which examined the dietary habits of the French population in detail. For example, for iodine — requirements for which are set at 200μg during pregnancy — the average intake is only 129μg among women aged 18 to 44.
Within this group, vitamin B9 intake is approximately 267μg, well below the 600μg recommended during pregnancy. Intakes below recommendations are also observed for magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and most vitamins.

*Revised opinion from ANSES on the update of the PNNS dietary guidelines — pregnant and breastfeeding women, ANSES 2019.
**Third French individual and national food consumption study (INCA 3). 2017.

You can take our Baby Bump food supplement from preconception and throughout your pregnancy.
Afterwards, you can take our postpartum vitamins Post essentials, after birth for 6 months or longer if you are breastfeeding.

The daily dose of Baby Bump provides 400 µg of folate in the form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (Quatrefolic®). This covers your needs with a form that is directly active and readily absorbed by the body*, so you can stop taking the folic acid that was prescribed to you.

*Conversion of calcium-l-methylfolate and (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid glucosamine salt into dietary folate equivalents. 2022.

Folic acid is a synthetic, inactive form of vitamin B9. It must undergo several stages of conversion before becoming the active form of vitamin B9: 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Quatrefolic® is this already active form of 5-MTHF. This form is preferable because the conversion of folic acid involves slow steps that may be limited* and requires, among other things, an enzyme that is less effective in the approximately 60% of the population who have a mutation in the MTHFR gene**. Quatrefolic®, by contrast, is absorbed directly by the body*** and helps you get enough vitamin B9 for you and your baby, whether or not you have the mutation.

Because the current technology used in our capsules cannot guarantee the absence of oxidation had we used DHA derived from schizochytrium microalgae oil. By making this choice, the stability and efficacy of our product is guaranteed.

We therefore rigorously selected a very high-quality fish oil, guaranteed Qualitysilver® and certified Friend of the Sea®, extra pure and free from pollutants. It also has a low Totox index (which measures the oxidation of the oil, i.e. its ageing).

The Totox index is a good indicator of the quality and oxidation of an oil. This value must be below 26, and the peroxide index must be below 5. Be wary of fish oils that advertise an extremely low peroxide index, which generally refers to the Totox obtained from the crude oil before purification, or the Totox measured just before the product is barrelled — both of which significantly underestimate its actual value and are therefore unreliable.

Our omega-3 oil is completely separate from the other active ingredients so that it retains all its properties and does not become oxidised. It comes from a very high-quality fish oil, guaranteed Qualitysilver® and certified Friend of the Sea®, extra pure and free from pollutants. Its stability is also guaranteed with its exceptionally low Totox index of 13 post-production, and a peroxide index of 0.7. Bonus: our amber glass jar protects it from light and therefore from oxidation.

We recommend splitting the dose across 2 meals (1 capsule with your breakfast and 1 with your lunch, or in the evening). Include sources of healthy fats in your meals to aid digestion (eggs, nuts, avocado, olive oil, etc.).

If despite everything you cannot digest fish oil, you can take our Bump essentials supplement, which is the equivalent of Baby Bump but without fish oil! In that case, do keep an eye on your DHA intake through food (fish, eggs), or consume products enriched with micro-algae oil (such as Crazy nut spread) or our supplement omega 3 pregnancy Oméga Mama.

For magnesium, it is recommended to supplement in several doses spread throughout the day, ideally 3 times*. It is therefore better to separate your magnesium supplement from your multivitamin supplement in order to spread the doses and achieve optimal absorption of this nutrient.

You can complement your Baby Bump intake with our magnesium supplement Mama-gnésium, based on 100% magnesium bisglycinate, with a dose split across 3 capsules per day.

*Intestinal Absorption and Factors Influencing Bioavailability of Magnesium- An Update, 2017.

Most women generally consume enough calcium through their diet, and during pregnancy intestinal calcium absorption doubles, meaning supplementation is generally not necessary*. Our formulation therefore focuses on nutrients such as vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, as vitamin D contributes to normal blood calcium levels, and vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.

*Calcium and bone metabolism during pregnancy and lactation. 2005

We have chosen an iron-free formula to allow you to manage your intake as best as possible according to your needs, and to avoid supplementing without prior blood tests over the long term. You can check your iron status with a simple blood test.
If you choose to supplement with iron, pay attention to the type of iron you use. We recommend avoiding medicinal iron in favour of iron in bisglycinate form, which combines bioavailability (90.9%) and digestive comfort*.
You can complement your Baby Bump intake with our Iron Mama supplement, containing highly absorbed* and patented Ferrochel® iron.

*Relative effectiveness of iron bis-glycinate chelate (Ferrochel) and ferrous sulfate in the control of iron deficiency in pregnant women, 2001.

Yes, Baby Bump can be taken by your partner. Although it has not been specifically formulated for men's needs, Baby Bump provides a comprehensive nutrient intake that is very beneficial for men. Zinc and selenium are of particular interest for male fertility. Taking a prenatal supplement as a man during the conception period may contribute to meeting his nutritional needs. On average, it takes approximately 74 days for a man to produce new sperm from start to finish*.

*INSERM: Reproductive function and differences between species.

Yes, you can take both at the same time! Cocooning+ contains plants to help reduce stress (rhodiola, passionflower) and zinc for fertility. There is no risk of zinc overdose if you take both.

The choline bitartrate we use naturally tends to darken in colour over time.

Our oil is Qualitysilver® guaranteed, certified Friend of the Sea®, extra pure and free from pollutants (Polluant No Thanks®).
We have also had the purity of the finished product — including the absence of heavy metals, pollutants, solvents and pesticides — verified by an independent laboratory*. To view the analyses, download the test results.

*Test results

If you are taking Ovo+, Cocooning+ and one of our pregnancy multivitamins (Baby Bump, Bump Essentials or Bump Powder), this results in a zinc intake of 15mg. The upper safety limit for zinc is 25mg per day. You can therefore combine these 3 products if you wish. However, please ensure you do not consume any other food supplements that also contain zinc.
