Sunny mummy — What is the difference between vitamin K1 and K2?

Vitamin K1 is primarily involved in blood clotting and is found mainly in green vegetables. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, plays a role in binding calcium to bones. It is rarely present in our modern diet and therefore deserves particular attention. It can be found in certain hard cheeses, eggs, and natto (fermented soya paste). Where dietary intake is insufficient, K2 supplementation is often warranted.
