Your questions about heavy legs food supplements

Heavy legs during pregnancy are a fairly common symptom. Several factors influence the risk (genetics, age, weight, family history, etc.).
Venous insufficiency is a vascular disorder characterised by impairment of the venous system, which reduces or hinders venous return. The changes in blood circulation that occur during pregnancy lead to increased venous pressure in the legs and greater oxygen consumption at rest. These events can cause varicose veins or venous insufficiency. Increased blood clotting, higher blood volume, and hormonal changes can also contribute to these symptoms. It is important to consult your doctor to ensure appropriate monitoring. If this is affecting your sleep, it is important to find the sleeping position during pregnancy that will support better circulation.

Eating foods that can naturally boost blood flow may help ease the sensation of heavy legs. Think red berries, such as blackcurrants, which are rich in flavonoids and anthocyanins, blueberries, pomegranate, spices like turmeric, and so on. Small oily fish, rich in omega-3, also help to improve blood flow.
It is important to drink plenty of water and take regular exercise.
To take care of your legs, you can try massage. We recommend starting from the extremities and working back towards the heart — begin at the feet and work upwards along the lower limbs towards the upper body. Our body brush can help with massage.

Cool temperatures can help. You can apply cold jets of water, from the bottom upwards, from the ankles to the buttocks, to relieve discomfort.

If you wear compression stockings to ease the sensation of heavy legs, Light legs may help replace them. Please note that if you wear compression stockings for another reason, such as venous insufficiency, you should continue wearing them whether or not you take Light legs. Always seek advice from your doctor or midwife to ensure the best support and avoid any risk. You can take Light legs while continuing to wear compression stockings.

There are several plants that can help to soothe heavy legs.
Red vine is a plant with beneficial properties for leg health, as it helps to improve blood flow and oxygenation in the legs. Horse chestnut, meanwhile, is a very effective plant for venous circulation, particularly for reducing oedema. Both of these plants can be consumed during pregnancy, but at doses such as those found in the Light Legs food supplement. At higher doses, they should be avoided. Maritime pine, at 30 mg per day, also supports good circulation and can help reduce lower back pain, joint pain, varicose vein discomfort, and cramps.
Please be cautious with other plants during pregnancy and breastfeeding, such as witch hazel, butcher's broom, and melilot, which may have interesting properties but should be avoided during these periods.

Heavy legs are often caused by poor blood circulation, water retention, or weak veins. Certain nutrients may help reduce this sensation by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and strengthening vein walls.
Here are some nutrients that may be beneficial:
Vitamin C: This vitamin is essential for the production of collagen, which helps strengthen blood vessel walls. It is found in citrus fruits, berries, peppers, and green vegetables.
Vitamin E: It supports blood circulation and acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect blood vessels from damage. Dietary sources include nuts, seeds, spinach, and vegetable oils.
Flavonoids: These antioxidant compounds, found in red berries, citrus fruits, green tea, and dark chocolate, help strengthen blood vessels and reduce inflammation.
Magnesium: This mineral helps relax muscles and improve blood circulation. It is found in green vegetables, nuts, seeds, oily fish, and wholegrains.
Omega-3: Omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish (salmon, mackerel), flaxseeds, and nuts, help reduce inflammation and support blood circulation.
Potassium: It helps regulate fluid balance in the body, thereby reducing water retention. Foods rich in potassium include bananas, avocados, spinach, and sweet potatoes.
Fibre: A diet rich in fibre helps prevent constipation, which can worsen heavy leg symptoms by increasing pressure on the veins. Fibre is found in fruits, vegetables, pulses, and wholegrains.
In addition to diet, it is important to maintain regular physical activity, drink enough water, and avoid sitting or standing for too long, to help improve blood circulation and relieve heavy legs.

Our pregnancy food supplement Baby Bump is rich in these nutrients and in omega-3.

During pregnancy, you may take it from the 4th to the 8th month in cases of heavy legs. We have conducted a safety study; it is not recommended during the first trimester due to insufficient data, and during the last month to limit the risk ofhaemorrhage during childbirth.
Light Legs is compatible with breastfeeding.

We recommend waiting one week after giving birth.

All ingredients are natural, and over 98% organic.
