Iron, iodine, vitamin B12… all essentials for our bodies that are found primarily in our diet. Depending on our lifestyle, we may face a shortfall — this is what we call nutritional deficiencies. A vegan diet, for example, is typically deficient in vitamin B12. While some minerals can be easily absorbed through a balanced diet, others are harder to come by or are not synthesised in sufficient quantities by our bodies. Pregnancy is a very special time! The body prioritises the foetus and provides everything it needs to develop.
